Effective date: 12 August 2026
The OUBAS Institute sells digital publications (eBooks) and membership subscriptions to the Amalgamated African Professionals (AAP). Payments are processed by our authorised reseller and merchant of record, Paddle.com Market Ltd. This policy explains delivery, refunds and cancellations.
Seller details
The supplier is Mbuso Dlamini, trading as OUBAS Institute, a sole proprietorship based in Johannesburg, Republic of South Africa, at 30 Springhill Road, River Club Ext 24, Sandton, Johannesburg, Gauteng 2149, Republic of South Africa. Customer support is available at enquiries@oubas.org or +27 82 606 0492.
Delivery
All products are digital. On successful payment, access is granted immediately: eBooks become downloadable and readable from the Bookstore, and membership benefits (including the digital membership certificate) activate on your member portal. A receipt and, where requested, a formal invoice are emailed to the address supplied at checkout.
Refunds on digital books
Because eBooks are delivered instantly and cannot be returned, sales are final once the file has been downloaded or opened in the reader. A full refund will nevertheless be granted, within 14 days of purchase, where: the file was never downloaded or opened; the wrong title or language edition was delivered; the file is corrupt or cannot be opened and we are unable to remedy this; or the purchase was duplicated in error.
Refunds on AAP membership
Membership fees may be refunded in full if cancellation is requested within 14 days of payment and no membership certificate has been issued and no member-only Corner has been joined. After that period, fees for the current membership year are non-refundable, but you may cancel to prevent any further renewal.
Cancelling a subscription
Recurring memberships may be cancelled at any time from your member portal or by writing to us. Cancellation stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the paid membership period shown on your certificate.
How to request a refund
Email your order reference and the reason for the request to admin.books@oubas.org for book purchases, or admin.aap@oubas.org for membership. We acknowledge requests within 2 business days and decide within 10 business days. Approved refunds are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd as Merchant of Record and returned to the original payment method, normally within 5–10 business days.
Chargebacks and disputes
Please contact us before raising a dispute with your bank — most matters are resolved faster directly. Billing enquiries may also be directed to Paddle, the merchant of record shown on your bank statement.
Statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits any right you may have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or other applicable law.
